I am a member and occasional player for Plymouth Argaum RFC the team from which Argaum Racing gets its name. I had the honour of being the first XV Captain for the 2008/2009 season and have made many good friends at the club and would highly recommend the club to anyone looking to play rugby or even just wanting some where friendly and sociable to enjoy a pint.
The team play in the
DC Bikers organise many ride outs, social evenings and trips for all bikers based in Devon and Cornwall. I was a member of DC Bikers and did the majority of my riding in and around Plymouth with these guys. The group is very friendly and welcomes all riders irrespective of machinery, age, sex or ability - you honestly couldn't meet a nicer bunch. I would recommend this as the best forum for bikers located in the southwest and for anyone looking for like minded individuals with which to ride.
The British Motor Cycle Racing Club (BMCRC) aka Bemsee is the world's oldest racing club. Based in Romford, Essex this is the best club for anyone wanting to go racing in the South of England. I have joined Bemsee and will be racing in their Minitwins Rookie series next season. Bemsee also has a fantastic set up for rookies with a dedicated Rookie rep always happy to answer any questions and a specific pre-season open day to help rookies fill in all the paperwork they need to go racing as well as offering continuous mentorship throughout your first season.

For anyone with an AMB transponder that doesn't work this is the only place to go to get it repaired. Don't be put off by the fact that they are based in Australia their turnaround is as quick as getting it repaired in the UK. They keep you fully updated with progress and will only charge you if they can repair your transponder. Transponder Services offer a brilliant service which saved me a lot of money* and which I happily recommend.
*It's worth pointing out that brand new transponders are £350 whilst 2nd hand they are approx £200 to £220.

For my rookie season I have decided to use the Micheline Power One as my choice of tyre. I cannot yet fully review or rate these tyres as I have never used them before but having previously been very impressed with the Michelin 2CT road tyres and with the outstanding dedicated Power One website I have high hopes that Michelin tyres will be a good choice. It is also worth mentioning that Michelin are generously supporting the Bemsee race classes with tyres and prize money up for grabs at each round.
